Brewing Foundation 


In this one day-course, participants receive a solid introduction to the world of coffee brewing, with focus on filter coffee. They are introduced to various manual and automatic brewing methods and gain an understanding of how key parameters such as grind size, brew time, brew ratio, and water quality influence the final cup. 

The course combines theory and practice: participants work with different brewing devices, analyse their brewing results through sensory evaluation, and learn how to make targeted adjustments based on this analysis in order to produce a balanced and flavourful coffee beverage. 

Additional content:
- Overview of different brewing methods (e.g. filter, French press, batch brew)
- Introduction to the key factors influencing coffee brewing
- Practical exercises with manual and automatic brewing devices 
- Sensory evaluation of brewed coffee and comparison of different results
- Error analysis and optimisation of brewing parameters
- Care and cleaning of brewing equipment
